Udruga Santina

SANTINA – Association for the Protection of Maritime Heritage is the first association dedicated to preserving maritime heritage founded in Preko on the island of Ugljan.
Mission and Activities: Preserving, promoting, and protecting traditional wooden shipbuilding, seafaring, and the maritime culture of the island of Ugljan. The association organizes educational programs, traditional gajeta rowing workshops, underwater cleanup campaigns, and participates in regattas and maritime events.

Notable Projects: The association acquired the 100-year-old wooden gajeta “Šimica” (built in 1924) from the Skračić family on Murter and initiated its thorough restoration to preserve historical vessels.
